Ink and watercolor surreal bird. Juvenile Clairvoyant Male All-Seeing Eye Bird 'Royal Oculus Avis'

Juvenile Clairvoyant Male All-Seeing Eye Bird 'Royal Oculus Avis'

'All-Seeing Eye Bird. Royal Oculus Avis.'

'Juvenile Clairvoyant Male in Winter Plumage.'

The majestic Royal Oculus Avis, young male.

My original artwork was created with India ink and watercolor.

It's from a surreal series of birds that grew out of my subconscious.

'Oculus Avis' is Latin for Eye Bird.

Sometimes, creatures from my mind require Latin names.

This print is an archival, fine art Giclée created from a high-quality scan of my original watercolor and printed on Hahnemuhle Torchon art paper (description below).

This Giclée printing process uses archival quality pigmented inks and acid-free fine art paper to ensure that with proper care, they will look as good 100 years from now as they do today. I'm using the finest fine art printers available.

My unframed prints ship in a sturdy reinforced cardboard "crush-proof" tube that is twice as thick as anyone else in the industry to avoid damage to the art while in shipment.

The images in this listing are mockup examples of how this print can look in a living space in various sizes. Watermarks will not be on the final print.

Also available on ready-to-hang stretched canvas and framed.

  • Art In Home Size Test

An excellent way to see if the size of the print you are considering fits your wall space is to cut a piece of poster board or news paper to size and tape it to the wall to see if it is what you need for the space.

*If you are going to have the print matted and framed, add a minimum of 4" to each dimention for a frame. Add 8" if you plan to have a mat and a frame. Most custom mats start at 3" wide, a frame adds another inch or three depending on your tastes.

    Examples:
10"x10" print in a 2" frame would fill a 14"x14" space on the wall.
    A 10"x10" print with a 3" mat with a 1/4"liner mat, plus a 2" wide frame, would be 20.25" x 20.25" as the finished framed art piece.

    3" (mat)+.25" (liner-mat) +2" frame

    X 2 (sides) = 10.25

    +10" (width of print)

= 20.25" width of framed print

Height on this example would be the same formula.
