Greek Merchant Ship & Dolphins – Silk Painting – Archival Fine Art Print
Greek Merchant Ship and Dolphins
Serti Technique on Silk
My interpretation of one of my favorite frescos.
This painting was inspired by a 3,500-year-old fresco from Santorini, Greece. It depicts a sunny day on the Mediterranean with a Greek merchant ship surrounded by playful dolphins.
Painted in the serti technique on silk, this piece captures the joy and energy of the ancient mariners and dolphins. The original fresco, discovered in the ruins of Akrotiri, reflects the Minoan love for the sea and its creatures.
Hand-painted on silk - the original was 26" x 20"
