Elegant Egret
Egret Coloring Page
You might think at first that Egrets are white, so there's nothing to color.
But if you watch them standing in the shallows or flying over a sparkling turquoise sea, you will notice that their feathers appear light blue, or light blue and emerald, reflecting the sky and sea.
Egrets are wading birds known for their striking all-white plumage and graceful movements. Egrets have yellow feet, which help identify them from the Great White Egret, a type of heron with dark feet. Egrets grow long, wispy plumes called aigrettes. These feathers were so fashionable in ladies’ hats in the 1800s that they were nearly driven to extinction. Conservation movements were born, and they've made a healthy comeback.
