     A few of my favorite Caribbean reef fish star in this piece: a Stoplight Parrotfish, a Juvenal Wrasse, and a brilliant Yellow-tailed Damsel swimming with other tropical reef fish through a lush forest of bright corals and sponges. I love the natural light that sparkles through the gin-clear water on a bright Caribbean day. I try to memorize a reef scene in the same way I would look at it while drawing, observing every detail, shadow, and sparkle of light as I put my pen to paper — but it all happens in my mind. Because of this focused observation of every little thing, I make a crap dive buddy. This is a dreamed scene — not from a photo, divers will notice. :)  Lighthouse Reef is off the coast of Belize. My original painting was 4’ x 5’ - oil on canvas.
