A beautiful Resplendent Quetzal sits on a moss-covered branch in a lush rainforest, tucked between orchids and bromeliads and highlighted by the rays of the rising sun. As the early mist fades, a little Red-Eyed Tree Frog can be seen peeking out from under an orchid leaf.

I painted this after a few days in Tikal. Sitting on top of temple-four at dawn, listening as the rainforest residents went from secluded silence of night, to a few testing peeps as the sky began to lighten, to a happy roar that dawn had arrived.
It was a beautiful morning watching the fog lift throught the canopy. 
My original painting was 4' x 5' on canvas.
